My name is Walter McKenzie and I’m a career educator, ed tech innovator and a leader in nonprofit association work.
Since the beginning of my career, I have helped educators have meaningful impact, committed to engaging, connecting and elevating them as they work to transform the profession.
Today’s organizations are morphing as you read this, redefining the value of belonging. The benefits of this shift are many, as new ways to plug into member organizations help them to become more relevant, agile and resilient in meeting the needs of professionals throughout their careers. Through my four decades of work in public education and nonprofit association work, I have learned to meet these challenges, understanding the impact of engaging educators in their important work. From teacher, instructional leader and assistant superintendent in Arlington, Virginia public schools to strategic advisor, director and now senior director at ASCD+ISTE, I encounter neverending opportunities to celebrate the profession while redefining relevance for today's professionals.
I love my work! There is nothing like making a difference alongside like-minded professionals who have their eyes on the future.
